- Every day we hear new stories of abandoned dogs and they remain devastating and heartbreaking, to say the least. These dog’s stories are sad but to see and learn that these stories have taken a new turn to the worse is even more terrifying, this is evidence that some humans continue to make some canine’s lives more miserable than before in unimaginable ways. This varying levels of cruelty towards these human’s best friends is unacceptable but it seems like it will be here for longer than we can foresee as not only does it keep increasing day by day but it’s getting gruesome by the day. This story sheds some more light on these dogs’ lifestyles to let the humane humans left know to get them all the help they need to live a healthier and happier lives.

- Before Oliver was found with a strange and unusual dog face, he had escaped from the throes of suffering at his owner’s hands. His owner has always locked him in a dark and waste-filled room and always returned to punish him every day like it was a ritual he shouldn’t miss. What this innocent dog had done to deserve this kind of treatment instead of getting to live with the love, support, and compassion of his owner as required isn’t the question as we all know that dogs are the most caring and loving animals towards their humans, the question is why his owner took this damaging step towards this action. This can’t be known as Oliver wasn’t even found here to begin with but it remains a bother and a mystery unsolved. Every day, the man will return to this dark, lonely, and waste-filled room without food for the dog but to beat him until his cries echo into the night. This went on for about two weeks when the neighbors couldn’t take it anymore after they tried warning him not to beat the dog and he wouldn’t yield because he claimed the dog was his to do anything with as long as he deemed it fit, they called the animal rescue team to save Oliver from this man who has taken it upon himself to vent whatever feelings on the innocent dog.

- By the time the rescue team got there to save Oliver, both the dog and the man had disappeared into thin air with only cardboard and dirt in the house, the only evidence that someone had lived there and recently packed out. One of the neighbors’ CCTV caught the man leaving in the middle of the night after having packed months earlier but only came back to punish the dog every day, how cruel and unexpected! The camera also caught dear Oliver leaving and running to safety in the dark after the man had released him, leaving him to his fate like his rituals were now complete. The rescue team promised to be on the lookout for him as they needed to help him. What they all didn’t realize was that the man had left an indelible mark on Oliver, one that would stick with him for the rest of his life and had the potential to take his life if he didn’t get help as soon as possible.

- The search for Oliver was fruitless as no one in the vicinity had seen him, though the search was still on for the dog, it was as if Oliver had decided not to run to any human for help because he wasn’t sighted after. Who would blame the innocent dog for thinking humans were the same?

- About a year later, one woman’s CCTV caught a dog with a swollen face, the woman had wanted to shake it off but pain and discomfort were etched in the dog’s face that the woman decided to call and send pictures of the dog she had seen to her friend who was a rescue worker. The pictures were of a dog with a swollen face and a small and thin frame for a body that no one would mistake he sure needed help and was in a lot of pain.

- The dog came and went and it seemed it had been seeking help for a while so the rescue team took off to the scene as soon as they could before the dog disappeared again.

- As you might have guessed, the dog was indeed Oliver and he needed all the support he could get.

- Oliver was rushed to the hospital where the workers were told that the piece of cloth around his neck had severely embedded in it causing her face to swell and could barely breathe or bark and that’s why she must have been running around from door to door seeking for help when the woman’s camera caught her.

- It was only a miracle that she was alive and would have dropped dead if help didn’t get to her at the time it did as one of the workers testified that he left a trail of rotting flesh in the air. The medical team took it upon themselves to do their best in caring for and treating Oliver. His chance of survival solely relied on them being able to remove the cloth without any unexpected complications that couldn’t be handled.

- Surgery was to be performed to successfully remove the cloth, he was placed on antibiotics for infection and intravenous fluids for hydration as not only as he suffer, but he was also emaciated because food and water were the last thing in his mind with a swollen face that had distorted his breaths and barks. Oliver couldn’t go under anesthesia and that made the rescue workers worried about the surgery but through the mastered expertise and experience of the surgeons, it was no problem and the surgery was successful. It was handled incredibly well and Oliver was safe and sound, the relief on her face was beautiful to see and made everyone satisfied with the help they had gotten her.

- Weeks later, Oliver’s face had reduced to normal so that anyone who had seen him being brought into the clinic wouldn’t believe it was the same dog.

- Oliver continued on the treatment path to aid her absolute recovery and she was soon taken off intravenous medications and changed to oral. Oliver started to eat which was a huge improvement to how he was wheeled to the hospital. He has started trusting humans again as the love, support, and kindness of these humans have made him heal and are taking him through the journey of full recovery.

- As Oliver healed, one of the workers recognized Oliver from the previous CCTV footage, and also because of the old wounds that were on his body, she was happy the dog and this dog were the same and they were able to save him eventually.

- Giving Oliver up for adoption after discharge and completing medical treatment is a complicated task for the workers due to his previous history of trauma to trauma. They knew he shouldn’t ever go through the same again, the only decision that could make or mar his future was that.

- One of the surgeons called the workers that he and his wife who was also on the team were willing to adopt Oliver and give him a much better life than the one he’s had. His story and condition had touched them and the wife had even shed tears when they got home that day. Who else is in the best position to adopt him than the ones who had walked through the process of healing with him than these two surgeons? The workers were happy that Oliver was getting the life he deserved at the end of the day which was a life full of love and compassion from humans even though it was long overdue. A dog that was bullied, neglected, and abandoned will now get to live his best life with two of the best humans, going hand in hand with them to work when necessary where he could make new friends both dogs and humans, and also get to cuddle and bond with not just one parent but two. What a huge turn of luck!!
- Even though a human had done this terrible act to him, the love and affection of some humans will begin to nurse him back to absolute perfection and health. The stars had started aligning for him and he was on his way to living a happy life.
